Larry Culpepper, MD, MPH, is professor of family medicine and was the founding chairman of the Department of Family Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine and his master of public health degree from Boston University. An active researcher, Dr Culpepper has conducted federally funded studies of depression and anxiety, otitis media, and school-based and community interventions to improve pregnancy outcomes. He has served as president of the North American Primary Care Research Group (NAPCRG), and has chaired or served as a member of research grant review committees for 5 National Institutes of Health and other federal agencies, and has served on 6 federal expert panels for consensus committees or evidence-based centers. He is a member of National Sleep Foundation, the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance, and The Anxiety Disorders Association of America scientific advisory boards and editor of The Primary Care Companion for CNS Disorders.
Ruth Benca, MD, PhD, received her undergraduate education at Harvard University and her medical degree and a doctor of philosophy degree in pathology from the University of Chicago. She is currently professor in the Department of Psychiatry and in the Center for Neuroscience at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and director of the University of Wisconsin Center for Sleep Medicine and Sleep Research. She also serves as the medical director for Wisconsin Sleep, where she treats patients with a broad range of sleep disorders.
Angela Golden, DNP, FNP-C, FAANP, is the past president of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and a family nurse practitioner. She provides clinical services as a family nurse practitioner in her own practice and in urgent care. She received her doctor of nursing practice from Arizona State University in Phoenix, Arizona, with an emphasis in evidenced-based practice and health policy.
